Selecting the Edge that is best for your new Countertop

You’ve spent tons of time selecting the perfect color and material for your countertops, don’t forget there’s still another selection to make, the edge profile. There are three general categories of edge treatment options: Straight Edges, Curved Edges and Fancy Edges. All three of these categories have multiple edges to choose from.

When making your edge selection you will need to consider the design your existing space has or a new design that you want to create. Some examples of design styles are traditional, modern or contemporary. If rounded corners are common throughout, then a curved type edge may be your best option. If straight lines are predominate in the space, then a square type edge may be considered. If you are going for a classy design you may want to go with a fancy style edge.

Some of the most common edges are bullnose, eased, bevel, ogee, waterfall or miter, but there are a lot more that are offered. Make sure to ask your fabricator what edges they offer.
